How We Give

Our goal is to amplify our impact by giving support in various ways.

We design and create handmade products, providing craftswomen living in the Asheville area with meaningful and creative part-time piecework opportunities to earn income. We buy baskets from Ugandan women weavers, providing them income upfront before selling them in the U.S. We intentionally employ women who don’t otherwise have access to employment opportunities. Every sale of our handmade products directly impacts our local and international programs.

Sisters Uganda

Our “Sister” organization, Sisters Uganda, is located in the western region of Uganda. We offer financial support for their personal & menstrual hygiene programs, assistance in program planning, design, and evaluation, and offer seed money for their business initiatives on the ground in Uganda.

RWENZORI SUPPORT CENTER

The Rwenzori Support Center, managed by the dedicated team at Sisters Uganda, is more than just a shelter for vulnerable children and a tailoring studio. It is family. It is hope. It is a brighter future. Nestled in the heart of the community, the center has become a haven for children who lost their parents to regional conflict and had nowhere else to turn. Here, these children have found not only a sense of belonging but also new brothers and sisters. They live, learn, and grow together, supporting and encouraging each other in school, play, and daily life. Even though the old building is crumbling, hope and love are a strong foundation for our vision for the Center.

AFGHAN WOMEN’S CRAFT COLLECTIVE

We sponsor the Afghan Women’s Craft Collective, which is helping build community and cultivate friendships among women who are building new lives in the Asheville area.
